Hall IX

North SultanBilardo Sultan

The angle never lies.

Cues carved from Fatma Nine's walnut tree, walnut tables inlaid with mother-of-pearl diamonds, a brass lamp over every table. The palace Billiards Pavilion is open, and it is looking for a new master. Run a three-cushion series, clear the table in 8-ball; the balls roll with real physics, and the same shot always gives the same result.

For ages 13 and over. No stakes: nothing is put up in any match; matches are played for rating, league and titles. Every cue strikes the same.

Why North Sultan: Bilardo Sultan?

The quiet of the hall, the click of the balls and an honest table. Every point you score belongs to your hand, your eye and your angle alone.

Three-cushion and 8-ball

Three-cushion, the game Türkiye carried to world titles, and 8-ball, the game everybody knows, in one pavilion. Free carom and one-cushion in practice too.

Same shot, same result

Sliding and rolling, follow and draw, side spin, the cushion changing the angle. No hidden luck is added to a shot; online, the server computes every shot.

No stats on cues

Every cue strikes the same. The aim guide is the same for everyone at a table; no item changes aim, power or spin.

Trick Shot Table

Sixty shot puzzles, six chapters, Hızır's impossible shot at the end. Every layout's solution is verified with the game's own physics.

Ranked 1v1

Real opponents near your rating; a separate Sultan Rating for 8-ball and three-cushion. A computer never sits at a ranked table.

A quiet hall

No ads, no energy timers, no random reward boxes. Versus the computer and Trick Shots play offline.

Two tables, two games

8-ball on the walnut pocket table, three-cushion on the carom table without pockets. Pictures from the game itself (the game's text is in Turkish first).

  • 8-ball against Nilüfer Sultan: the solids are the player's group; the aim guide shows where the cue ball meets the green 6 and where it goes
    8-Ball

Break, take your group, clear the table, then send the 8 into the pocket you called. A foul gives your opponent ball in hand. Ranked is one rack.

  • Three-cushion against Doğan Ağa: the scoreboard shows points, average and run; the aim guide runs from the cue to the red
    Three-Cushion

Your ball must touch three cushions, then both other balls. Score and you stay at the table and grow your run; your average and high run live on your profile.

Comfortable controls

Hold the phone sideways: the table in the middle, the cue on the left, the fine-tune wheel on the right. Changed your mind? Slide the cue up and the shot is cancelled.

  • Aim

Slide a finger on the table; the aim guide shows the first contact and where the balls go.

Its length is the same for everyone in a mode.

  • Fine-tune

Turn the wheel on the right to refine the angle in tiny steps, for thin cuts.

    Left-handed mode swaps the sides.

  • Spin

Pick the contact point on the cue-ball medallion: follow, draw or side spin.

The medallion always shows your spin.

  • Pull and release

Pull the cue back on the left and let go. The further you pull, the harder the shot.

Watch every shot again with TEKRAR.

Trick Shot Table

Every chapter is a friend's table in the corner; each teaches one skill, and Hızır appears in the last layout. Finish in few shots and take three stars.

Hızır's Three Cushions
  • Sixty layouts

Aim, Spin, Cushions, Runs, One-Cushion and Three-Cushion: six chapters of ten.

  • Three stars

Finish in the expected number of shots for three stars, one more for two, two more for one.

  • All solvable

Every layout's solution was found and verified with the game's own physics; the GÖSTER button plays it for free.

  • Shot of the day

The same layout for everyone, every day. Plays offline too.

Four doors, one pavilion

Climb the ladder against the computer, warm up at the Trick Shot Table, sit down with a real opponent or invite a friend.

  • Versus the Computer: a velvet chair at the head of a green-cloth table, a glass of tea and a cue leaning on it
    Versus the Computer

One ladder each for 8-ball and three-cushion: eight opponents, each with their own style. No connection needed.

  • Trick Shot Table: the cue ball, a red and a black ball under the lamp, a shot path drawn in gold dots between them
    Trick Shots

Sixty master shots. Your stars stay on your device; try again as often as you like.

  • Online: two crossed cues on green cloth with the white, yellow and red carom balls
    Online

Ranked 8-ball or Short Three-Cushion (first to 5, at most 15 innings). No opponent? An unrated practice match is offered.

  • With a Friend: a gold emblem on the table rail with crossed cues above it
    With a Friend

Invite from your friends list; you choose the game, match length, aim guide and shot clock.

The angle never lies

The Billiards Pavilion is the ninth hall of the studio's shared legend, The Legend of the Star Stone, and opens right after Erlik's last winter.

  1. The broken branch

When the winter melted, the walnut tree in the courtyard still stood, but its greatest branch had broken. Fatma Nine would not burn it: "This tree gave cues once. It will give something more."

  2. A game without fate

Sina Hoca drew three lines on a parchment: a ball, a cushion, an angle. Cues and walnut tables were carved from the branch, mother-of-pearl diamonds set into the cushions.

  3. Erlik's offer

On the pavilion's first night Erlik Han appeared at the door: "Let the loser hand the winner a purse of gold." Sina Hoca smiled: "At this table the loser hands the winner only the chalk."

  4. The pavilion's custom

Since that day nothing is ever put up at the table. Once a year Erlik comes as a guest, plays, and when he loses he rises graciously.

Fair and responsible play

North Sultan: Bilardo Sultan is a game of skill; there are no stakes: nothing is put up in a match and nothing is paid to the winner; matches are played for rating, the weekly league and titles. Tournaments are free to enter; their rewards are titles, frames and cosmetics. Nothing of monetary value can be won. There are no ads, no random reward boxes, no energy timers and no power sold for money; every cue strikes the same. The game is for players aged 13 and over.

In an online match your app sends only your shot; the server computes where the balls go and applies the rules, and both players' devices verify the same result. A computer never sits at a ranked table; if no opponent is found, a clearly labelled, unrated practice match is offered. Details: Bilardo Guide. In the app you can take a break or exclude yourself under Profile › Settings › Responsible Play.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to pay to play?

No. Download and play right away; Versus the Computer, Trick Shots, Practice, ranked matches and private tables with friends are free. The opponents' cues, cloths and ball sets are unlocked by playing and are cosmetic only.

Can I use my account from other North Sultan games?

Yes. North Sultan games share one account: your level, profile, friends and messages are the same in North Sultan: 101 Okey, North Sultan: Batak, North Sultan: Satranç, North Sultan: Okey, North Sultan: Tavla, North Sultan: Pişti, North Sultan: Saray Topu and North Sultan: Sultan Blast. If you linked your account to Apple or Google, just sign in with the same account.

Are there stakes in the game?

No. In Bilardo Sultan nothing is put up in a match; you get nothing for winning and give nothing for losing. Matches are played for rating, league and titles. That is the pavilion's custom too: the loser hands the winner only the chalk.

Is the physics really the same for everyone?

Yes. The game's physics engine is deterministic: the same angle, power, spin and cue-ball position give exactly the same result on every device and on the server; no hidden luck is added to a shot. Online, the server computes every shot and both players' apps verify the same result. Randomness is used only for the 8-ball rack order and for who starts.

Do cues differ in power?

No. Every cue strikes the same. The aim guide's length depends on the mode and is the same for everyone at that table; no item, membership or purchase changes aim, power or spin.

Which rules are used?

8-ball: the table is open after the break and the first ball pocketed decides the groups; clear your group and pocket the 8 in the called pocket to win; a foul gives your opponent ball in hand. Three-cushion: your ball must touch at least three cushions before the second ball; ranked is first to 5, at most 15 innings, with the equalising inning. Details: Bilardo Guide.

Can my opponent be a computer?

Not at a ranked table: a computer never joins the ranked queue. If no opponent is found in about 25 seconds, you are offered, clearly labelled, an unrated practice match against the house computer; it does not affect your rating, league or tournaments. A computer never sits at a private table with your friend either.

What happens if I lose my connection?

If it is your turn, your clock is held once for 20 seconds; come back within 60 seconds (even after closing and reopening the app) and you continue where you left off. A player away for longer forfeits the match.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Versus the Computer, Trick Shots and Practice play without a connection; your progress and stars are stored on your device. Ranked matches and private tables need a connection.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile › Delete my account. If you cannot open the app, use the web form. The account is shared by all North Sultan games, so deleting it also deletes your progress in the other games.
