Why North Sultan: Batak?

Real Batak

Auction, Spades-trump and partnership tables. Follow suit, beat when you can, trump when void, no trump lead until broken: the coffee-house rules.

Private tables with friends

Add friends by code, set up your own table and fill all four seats. In partnership Batak the seat across is your partner.

VIP voice chat

Daily gift

The cards

Three ways to play

52 cards, four players, thirteen tricks. Choose your way when you set the table.

  • Auction Batak

Each player bids or passes in turn; the highest bidder wins the contract, names trump and leads the first trick. The minimum bid is 4.

    Made: 10 × bid + overtricks. Failed: −10 × bid.

  • Spades Trump

Spades are always trump and there is no auction. Every player bids their own number of tricks once and plays against their own bid.

Make your bid: 10 × bid + overtricks.

  • Partnership Batak

Players sitting opposite are partners and the auction is on the pair's combined tricks. The minimum bid is 7, made together.

The team's score goes to both partners.

North Sultan: Batak is a social game for entertainment only. Chips have no cash value; they cannot be cashed out, sold or transferred between players, and no real-money or prize gambling is offered. The game is for adults 18+.

The server runs every table; cards are shuffled fairly and nobody can see another player's hand. Empty seats may sometimes be filled by computer players. In the app, Profile › Settings › Responsible Play lets you set a monthly spending limit, take a break or self-exclude.

Frequently asked questions

Is the game free?

Yes, it is free to download and play. You can buy chip packs or a VIP membership in the app if you like; purchases are made only through the App Store and Google Play.

Can I sign in with my North Sultan: 101 Okey account?

Yes. North Sultan games share one account: your chips, VIP membership, level, profile, friends and messages are the same in North Sultan: 101 Okey. If your account is linked to Apple or Google, just sign in to North Sultan: Batak with the same account.

Can I cash out chips?

No. Chips are virtual units used only inside the game; they have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or prizes, sold or transferred to other players. Trading chips outside the game is forbidden.

Which rules are used?

Common Turkish coffee-house Batak: 52 cards, four players, 13 cards each. You must follow suit, beat the highest card when you can, and trump when you are void; trump cannot be led until it has been broken. A made contract scores 10 × bid + overtricks, a failed one −10 × bid; a player who takes no tricks at all is "batak". A match is 11 hands. Details: Batak Guide.

Are there computer players at the table?

On open tables, empty seats may be filled by computer-controlled players so the game can start without waiting. Computer players never win anything of real value and only know the cards everyone can see.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile › Delete My Account. If you cannot reach the app, use the web form. As the account is shared by every North Sultan game, deleting it also removes your North Sultan: 101 Okey progress.
